Ben Crase b. 1976

Ben Crase (b. 1976, Butte, Montana) is a self-taught painter living in San Diego, California, with his wife Brooke and their dog Leroy. Drawing deeply from the iconography, mythology, and personal memory of the American West, Crase reimagines its rugged symbols through a lens of theatricality, tenderness, and introspection. His vividly rendered figures and dreamlike interiors conjure a revisionist landscape- one where kinship, performance, and emotional authenticity replace conquest and bravado.

Crase has exhibited internationally at Piermarq* (Sydney), Sorry We’re Closed (Brussels), The Finch Project (London), and Galerie Rompone (Cologne), among others.
