The lemniscate sculpture is based on the reconstruction of bannister handrails from a disassembled staircase, translating a spiral into a loop and turning them into a non-linear object infinitely coiling upon itself. Preserving the dimension of two flights of stairs, it accentuates the possibility of simultaneous ascension and descent. The hardwood has been effectively hand-polished over the years by the inhabitant of the house. Exploring the idea of artificial ruins as a system with deconstructive intensities, the sculptures become a translation of recognisable architectural forms into abstract objects
