BIGGS & COLLINGS: SUSPICIOUS UTOPIAS – Fort Worth Contemporary Arts, Fort Worth

23 March - 12 May 2013
Fort Worth Contemporary Arts
2900 West Berry Street,Fort Worth, TX 7610

The show, which is called Suspicious Utopias features two magnificent large oil paintings featuring Biggs & Collings' triangular motif; a wall to ceiling collage, with the same motif, comprising both digital prints and hand-made works on paper, and a polemical wall text 50-feet wide.

Fort Worth Contemporary is a not-for-profit public art space devoted to new developments in contemporary art.  It is part of TWU.   The show is organised by the gallery's director, Christina Rees.

The title refers to abstract art in the history of modernism, which was thought of as prophesying progressive social ideas.  The polemical aspect of our exhibition is about how you live as an abstract artist after those utopian beliefs have broken down.
